Within the golden triangle of Montfort, Beynac and Sarlat,
five kilometers south of Sarlat and near the 12th century village of Vitrac,
we have an ideally located property of exceptional beauty. The property consists
of a group of carefully restored Périgordine buildings surrounded by three
hectares (7 acres) of park and private forest.
A prized south of Sarlat location, just a few hundred meters from the Dordogne river,
yet within five minutes by car (even in July and August) from the medieval charm of Sarlat,
the capital of Perigord Noir, its excellent restaurants, shops, markets and festivals.
Both quiet and peaceful but close to everything and not isolated.
Our three charming gîtes, Le Pommier, Le Rosier and Le Bois,
are perfect for your self catering holiday rental while you explore the beautiful Dordogne valley.
Located in a vast and imposing original stone building and its out-buildings, very comfortable
and full of character, each has a large private garden and a barbecue. Our own family lives in
the maison de maître just to the side and we are here to provide a warm welcome, help and assistance to our guests.

The "must see" villages of Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme and La Roque-Gageac are between four and ten kilometers
to the west of us.
To the east lies Château de Fenelon (12 km/8 miles), undoubtedly one of the most beautiful châteaux in Périgord. Classified
as a Historical Monument it combines the defensive features of the Middle Ages with Renaissance elegance.
To the north are the world famous Lascaux (31 km/19 miles), caves and many prehistoric sites and museums in or around Les Eyzies (23 km/15 miles),
including Font-de-Gaume, one of the last caves in Europe with prehistoric paintings still open to the public.
Vitrac Port, Cénac and Carsac, the popular starting points for canoeing the most scenic
stretch of the Dordgone river are respectively one, three and five kilometers away.
Friendly and welcoming to man for more than twenty thousand years, the region is considered by the French as the
source of life. Today it is also well known for great local cuisine and warm, salt-of-the earth people.
