Our region is well known for great local cuisine. If you are here to enjoy it, the following restaurants should not dissapoint you. Please keep in mind that most of the very best restaurants are not in but around Sarlat.

1.	Le Quatre Saisons 05 53 29 48 59 Sarlat 2 Côte de Toulouse Center of Sarlat	Considered one of the best in Sarlat: creativity and imagination of the chef, culinary quality, incomparable mix of traditional and modern taste, original and sometimes exotic plate presentation. Lamb not to be missed.
2.	La Treille 05 53 28 33 19 Vitrac 2 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir.	The chef was born and raised in Vitrac but worked all over the world, absolutely superb food, Périgourdine with an international touch. One of our VERY TOP.
3.	Delpeyrat 05 53 28 10 43 Carsac 5 minutes east of Le Petit-Manoir in center of Carsac	Authentic Perigord cuisine, excellent quality, great value, everything homemade, inexpensive and generous menus, friendly owners, charming old building, year-round local lunch favorite, equally good in the evening.
4.	Le Bistro de l'Octroi 05 53 30 83 40 Sarlat 111, Avenue de Selves Just north of center	Overall excellent quality from a well-known family of restuaranteurs, varied menu with regional specialties. Nice terrace, good value for money, open year round, favorite of locals.
5.	Le Grand Bleu 05 53 31 08 48 Sarlat 43, Avenue de la Gare Near the Sarlat train station	The only restaurant in Sarlat with a Michelin star. The menu is very refined but quite short, the plate presentation perfect, the service excellent. Worth a visit just for the experience.
6.	Les Prés Gaillardou 05 53 59 67 89 Vitrac 3 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	On the road between Vitrac and Cénac, on the right. Perigord specialities, charming old stone building with quite beautiful interior, eating outside in summer is like being in a garden.
7.	Cabanoix et Châtaigne 05 53 31 07 11 Center of Domme 3 rue Geoffroy de Vivans 10 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	On a small side street of the main square in Domme, this restaurant is a must for those who love foie gras. They offer many different preparations of this perigordine delicacy, the grilled one being exceptional. Original and traditional all at once, the menu is varied with something for everyone. If there are four of you there is the possibility to order four differently prepared foi gras starters and sample them all together. Be sure to ask for the best order in which to eat them.
8.	La Belle Etoile 05 53 29 51 44 La Roque-Gageac 10 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	In the heart of La Roque-Gageac. Outstanding restaurant: elegant, delicious, memorable, great value. Window tables are on the edge of the Dordogne river. Natural beauty of the area make it quite romantic.
9.	Le Presidial 05 53 28 92 47 Sarlat 6, rue Landry Center of Sarlat	Located in a magnificently renovated old royal justice palace, Le Presidial is worth a visit just for the magical and romantic setting. Well prepared and attractively presented traditional Sarladaise dishes, great reputation. In the center but tucked away up the hill behind the City Hall.
10.	L' Esplanade 05 53 28 31 41 Center of Domme 10 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	In the heart of the medieval Domme. Little more expensive than others, with a breathtaking view onto the river and the valley below, trying to earn back it's Michelin star. When it comes to food the words that come to mind are: sublime, unreal, fantastic.
11.	Le Petit Manoir 05 53 29 82 14 Sarlat 13 rue de la Republique Center of Sarlat	Not related to us in spite of the name. Located in a beautiful old building in the heart of Sarlat, the owner is French, the chef originally from Vietnam and the food is Périgourdine but with an Asian flavor. Very interesting and excellent quality.
12.	Le Plaisance 05 53 31 39 39 Vitrac 2 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	If you feel like eating close to home again after La Treille and Les Prés Gaillardou, Le Plaisance offers a very good level of French cuisine of the region. Many of our French neighbours celebrate their birthdays and anniversaries here.

It is advisable to make reservations for all of the restaurants mentioned above. Most speak English or we can help.

It is normally better to order set menus than choose individual items. There are usually three or four set menus oferring two to four choices for each course.

Many restaurants offer excellent value with set lunch menus on weekdays; one can eat just as well for half or two-thirds of the evening price.

Many restaurants are closed on Sunday nights and Mondays.

Service is included and tips are not mandatory but most people leave a few euros, somewhere between 5% and 10% if food and service are good.

A few inexpensive restaurants offering more basic food.

1.	Le Chalet Vitrac 2 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	Located right on the river just on the other side of the Vitrac bridge. It is a snack bar and grill and a good place to have a steak and fries.
2.	La Palmeraie 05 53 30 31 40 Sarlat 8, rue Gabriel Tarde	Moroccan restaurant, tajines, couscous, interesting North African wines. Good and inexpensive.
3.	L'Eole 05 53 59 64 56 On the right just past Saint Cybranet on the way to Castelnaud 15 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	In the heart of the Céou Valley, near St. Cybranet, this restaurant makes great pizza and Perigord specialites. From mid-May to the end of August they have truffle specialites, including truffle pizza. Large, beautiful terrace. Reservation advised.
4.	Sawadee 06 89 81 64 41 Cénac As you arrive in Cénac, just after the bridge on the right Less than 5 minutes from Le Petit-Manoir	A bit more expensive than others in this group, but if you are craving Thai food from a real Thai chef you do not have to go far. Fresh ingredients and spices, very authentic. Reservations are recommended as restaurant is quite small.
5.	Chez Antoine 05 53 28 56 29 Sarlat 2 place de la Petite Rigaudie Center of Sarlat	The best pizzeria in Sarlat.
6.	La Romane 05 53 59 23 88 Sarlat 3 Cote De Toulouse Center of Sarlat	Another pizzeria in Sarlat, but stick with pizza.
