3. Gouffre de Padirac
The Padirac cave, discovered in 1889, is one of the most popular underground attractions in France.
You will enjoy a guided tour with a gentle river boat trip 100 meters underground.
The caves along the way vary from intimate, just inches from your head, to a high gallery 78m above.
The tour continues on foot past beautifully lit pools, caverns, stalactites and waterfalls.
In the summer expect crowds and delays.
