St Cirq Lapopie, in its stunning position perched over the Lot river, lies on top of a 100 meter cliff.

The town is accessed through stone gates in fortified walls. Charming narrow cobbled streets contain medieval houses, many with small terraced gardens. There are remains of three chateaux and a 15th century roman-style church.

St Cirq Lapopie is officialy classified as "one of the most beautiful villages of France." It is the top tourist destination in the department of Lot.
