6. Saint Emilion
The beautiful village of Saint-Emilion is the oldest wine area of the Bordeaux region.
The Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO, is composed of Saint-Emilion
plus seven other communites: Saint-Christophe des Bardes, Saint-Etienne de Lisse, Saint-Hippolyte,
Saint-Laurent des Combes, Saint-Pey d’Armens, Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens and Vignonet and it covers an area of some 7,800 hectares.
Many of these communites overlook the Dordogne valley.
Saint-Emilion wines are some of the finest in the world.
